We’ve got a big week ahead Panthers fans. One of the hallmarks of this condensed season is the frequency of games over a short period of time and that will never be more evident than this week when we play four home games in a six-day period.
Washington, Montreal, Tampa Bay and Toronto come to town for a pivotal four-game set and we expect the BB&T Center to be rocking all week-long as our Cats continue their climb up the Eastern Conference standings.
The Panthers are returning from a 2-1-1 road trip highlighted by wins against Philadelphia and Buffalo. Add in the victory over Winnipeg on Jan. 31 at home, and the Cats have secured seven out of a possible 10 points out of their last five games.
Currently, Florida sits just three points out of first place in the Southeast Division and an Eastern Conference playoff spot. With seven out of our next nine games at home, and a healthy lineup, we have a great opportunity ahead of us, and the continued support of our incredible fans will be a big part of that.
As I’ve said in the past, we have made a concerted effort as an organization to show our appreciation for our fans all season long as part of the “7th Man” initiative. That effort will continue in the coming days with a number of events we have planned including the Daughtry and 3 Doors Down concert scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 20 which is free to season ticket holders.
As challenging as this shortened season is for our players, we are also asking a lot of our fans and thus far, with an average home attendance of over 18,000 and two sellouts, they have proved to be some of the most passionate and dedicated fans in the entire NHL. And with four games in the next six days, we are going to need every bit of that passion to help make this home stand a success.
Thanks for reading and go Panthers.
