48 – Bruins fans had barely settled into their seats when the home team gave them the chance to get out of their seats. Patrice Bergeron pounced on a misplayed puck by Jay Bouwmeester, skated in on Craig Anderson and beat the Panthers netminder above his glove hand just 48 seconds into the game for his sixth of the season.

2 – Boston took a 2-0 lead thanks to some luck as Mark Stuart fanned on his initial shot but the puck was close enough where he basically hit it and it slid past Anderson's left pad, but Florida got on the board thanks to Kamil Kreps second of the season as he took a nice pass and beat Tim Thomas with 6:26 remaining in the first.

4 – Boston’s fourth line of Byron Bitz, Yelle and Shawn Thornton gave the Bruins a two goal lead once again as Bitz deflected the low Yelle shot from the left side above Anderson with 4:07 left in the second period. The goal gave both fourth lines a goal on the night and all forwards on the fourth line registered at least one point.

44:58 – It took over two periods of play for the officials to blow the whistle for a penalty. The penalty? Fighting majors for Panthers defenseman Keith Ballard and Bruins forward Chuck Kobasew coming with 4:58 gone in the third period. The Panthers would pick up two hooking penalties later in the period.

8 – Picking up the first assist on Bitz’s second goal which gave the Bruins a 4-1 lead 3:24 into the final period as well as the first helper on Michael Ryder’s goal 9:31 in which gave them a 6-1 advantage, Marc Savard recorded his 45th and 46th assists on the season and 66th and 67th points of the season. The Bruins center entered the game eighth in the league in both those categories.

27:53 – Scoring 24 seconds into a Cory Stillman hooking penalty in the third period, Ryder ended an impressive streak for the Panthers. The Panthers penalty kill units had killed off their last 17 attempts and a total of 27:53 of ice time before the goal tonight (3 games). The units also had allowed an impressive one power play goal (Washington) in the last 27 attempts or 44:47.

20 – Scoring the only goal for the Panthers, Kreps tally increased the Panthers goal streak by the forwards to 20, covering the last eight games. Kreps is the 11th different forward to contribute to the streak.

78 – Every team has a down game where the end score looks like a total blowout. Playing pretty solid hockey this season and great hockey since the start of 2009, Tuesday was the biggest loss to date for the Panthers (five goals). In fact, you would have to go back to the 2007-08 season to find the last time the Panthers have lost by at least five goals. The New York Rangers were on the winning end of a 5-0 score in New York on February 24th.

1 – Usually playing on Tuesdays means good things for the Panthers. In fact they mean really good things. The loss to the Bruins was the Cats first loss of the season while playing on a Tuesday. They had won their first eight games while playing on that day of the week.

74 – Looking for some bright lights from the play of the Panthers, you can look no further than the Cats fourth line. Kreps had a goal on a team-high four shots, Anthony Stewart had an assist, but the big contributor was Nick Tarnasky (#74). Playing in his second straight game, Tarnasky was all over the ice. He dished out a team high five hits and blocked a team high three shots in 11:28 of ice time (16 shifts).
