SUNRISE – The Florida Panthers will open their 2005 Training Camp on Wednesday, September 14 at incredible ICE in Coral Springs. All on-ice sessions at incredible ICE are free and open to the public.

This will be the first Panthers training camp for Head Coach Jacques Martin and new Cats such as C Joe Nieuwendyk, LW Gary Roberts, LW Martin Gelinas, C Jozef Stumpel, C Chris Gratton and D Sean Hill.

The Panthers training camp roster consists of 39 players – 20 forwards, 15 defensemen, four goalies – hailing from seven different countries.

Florida will play six preseason games before opening the 2005-06 regular season at home on Wednesday, Oct. 5 against new Thrashers right wing Marian Hossa and division rival Atlanta at the BankAtlantic Center.

The Panthers open the preseason on the road on Sunday, Sept. 18 at 3 p.m. against the Carolina Hurricanes. Florida is on the road again just four days later for a three-game, three-night road trip. The Panthers are at Atlanta on Friday, Sept. 22, then fly to Grand Forks, N.D. for a contest with Minnesota on Sept. 23 and wrap up the trip against defending Stanley Cup Champion Tampa Bay on Sept. 24.

The camp shifts to Eagle, CO on Sunday, Sept. 25 where the team will hit the ice for four days of training at the Eagle Ice Arena.

The Panthers finish off the preseason with a pair of home games – first against Carolina on Thursday Sept. 29 at 7 p.m., and finally versus Tampa Bay on Sunday, Oct. 2 at 1 p.m.
