Olli Jokinen to Remain as Cats' Team Captain
Nieuwendyk, Roberts, Gratton & Hill Named Club's Assistant Captains
SUNRISE, FL - Florida Panthers head coach Jacques Martin announced today that C Olli Jokinen will remain as the team's captain, after being named to the position on Oct. 7, 2003. Martin also announced that C Joe Nieuwendyk, LW Gary Roberts, C Chris Gratton and D Sean Hill will alternate as the club's assistant captains.
Jokinen, 26, appeared in all 82 contests with the Panthers during 2003-04 season, pacing the Cats in goals (26), assists (32), points (58), PPG (8), SHG (2), and GWG (8). The Kuopio, Finland native also completed the 2002-03 campaign as the club's leading scorer with 65 points (36-29-65). He ranks among the franchise's all-time leaders with 168 points (7th), 77 goals (6th) and 91 assists (10th).
