MEDIA ADVISORY: Cats Face Rangers on OLN Tonight

Florida Heads Into MSG in First Place

SUNRISE, FL – The Southeast Division-leading Florida Panthers will make their first appearance on OLN tonight when they travel to Madison Square Garden to face the New York Rangers at 7 p.m.

The 30-minute NHL on OLN post game show is scheduled to start at 9:30 p.m. and will immediately follow the game.

The game, which is available in high definition, is the first of two OLN appearances for the Cats this season. The Tuesday, Oct. 25 road game against rookie star Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins will also be carried live by OLN at 7:30 p.m.

The Panthers are coming off a 3-2 home win over the Buffalo Sabres in front of a BankAtlantic Center crowd of 17,426. Captain Olli Jokinen scored the game winner with just 1:07 remaining in a thrilling contest. Young center Nathan Horton and veteran wing Martin Gelinas also scored for the Cats while G Roberto Luongo made 32 saves.

With the win the Panthers improved to 4-2-0 with eight points on the season, good for a first place tie with in-state rival Tampa Bay.

Following its game against the Atlantic Division-leading Rangers, Florida will go to New Jersey for a 7:30 game against the Devils, before returning home for a 7 p.m. start against the Washington Capitals on Thursday, Oct. 20 and a 7:30 start against the Ottawa Senators on Saturday, Oct. 22. All three games will be televised on FSN Florida.

Tickets for the Washington and Ottawa games are still available at all Ticketmaster outlets and the BankAtlantic Center box office. The special $8 game day only tickets will be in effect, but fans should keep in mind that season ticket packages starting as low as $7 per game are still available by calling 954-835-PUCK.

In addition, Panthers general manager Mike Keenan announced today that LW Gregory Campbell has been recalled from the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League. In order to make room for Campbell on the team's 23-man roster the Panthers placed RW Gary Roberts on injured reserve retroactive to Oct. 10.

Campbell, 21, has played in four games with Rochester this season scoring one goal with two assists and 15 penalty minutes. The London, Ontario native was drafted by Florida with their fourth choice (67th overall) in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.
