Toys For Tots and Carl's Holiday Spectacular Highlight Initiatives

SUNRISE, Fla. – Sunrise Sports & Entertainment and the Florida Panthers Foundation announced today its community initiatives for the month of December.

Three impressive charity events will highlight the month – the Toys for Tots drive at the BankAtlantic Center on Dec. 13, Carl's Holiday Spectacular at the BankAtlantic Center on Dec. 15 and Panthers Hospital Visits on Dec. 20 at three area hospitals.

"The Foundation is excited about an extremely busy month of helping the community," said Vice President of Community Development Randy Moller. "This is the season for giving and we're pleased to offer a number of charitable events that we feel are the best ways to add to the holiday spirit of the South Florida community."

On Tuesday, Dec. 13 the Panthers and the United States Marine Corps will team up for the "Toys for Tots" drive at the BankAtlantic Center. Fans attending the Panthers game vs. the Nashville Predators are encouraged to donate new, unwrapped toys to benefit local children this holiday season. Collection bins will be located on the plaza level.

On Thursday, Dec. 15 Panthers players' wives or girlfriends will be at the Panthers-Red Wings game selling "Carl's Holiday Spectacular" pucks for $10 per puck. Pucks can also be purchased at Carl's locations starting Dec. 15 through the end of the holiday season. Proceeds from the puck sales will benefit the Sun-Sentinel Children's Fund.

On Tuesday, Dec. 20 Panthers players will don team Santa hats to bring cheer to children at three area hospitals –Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital, Broward General Hospital and Miami Children's Hospital.

The three initiatives will provide a fitting buildup to the Foundation's Ice & Dice Casino Night on Feb. 1.

With Florida Panthers players working as dealers, the Foundation anticipates a large crowd for an over the top Las Vegas-style, five-star evening that fans can't afford to miss. Guests will also be able to take part in on-ice activities, games and contests while Panthers general manager Mike Keenan and his wife Nola serve as honorary chairs of the event.
