Panthers Foundation Moves Forward With Two Great Initiatives
Commit 2B Fit and Feeding Broward Together Food Drive Planned For Coming Month
After the resounding success of raising $140,000 at the Ice & Dice Casino Night at the BankAtlantic Center, the Florida Panthers Foundation isn't slowing down . Over the next month the Foundation will take part in two more major charity initiatives – "Commit 2B Fit" and the 2nd Annual "Feeding Broward Together" food drive with the Girl Scouts of America.
"After the success of the Ice & Dice Casino night it is important for the Foundation to move forward in reaching out to the South Florida community," said Vice President of Community Development Randy Moller. "We have made a vow to diversify our community programs. And with 'Commit 2B Fit' and the 'Feeding Broward Together' food drive we feel that we are accomplishing that goal and aiding the community in a variety of ways."
As part of Commit 2B Fit, Florida Panthers players will be out in the community and in schools during February and March to promote healthy eating and physical activity to South Florida families. In conjunction with KISS 99.9FM, BankAtlantic, Florida Department of Citrus and the Broward County Schools, the Foundation will host the Commit 2B Fit night at the BankAtlantic Center during the Panthers home game vs. the defending Stanley Cup Champion Tampa Bay Lightning. Pre-game and in-game activities will encourage children to "Take the Challenge" of becoming more active and making better nutritional choices.
