Cats Face Trio Of Big Home Games This Week
Panthers Are Eight Points Out; Atlanta, Pittsburgh and Tampa Come To BAC
SUNRISE, Fla. – Sitting just six points out of the eighth and final Eastern Conference playoff spot, the Florida Panthers visit the Tampa Bay Lightning tonight before returning home for a trio of big home games this week.
The Cats will face the Atlanta Thrashers on Wednesday, April 5 at 7 p.m. presented by Termidor, the Pittsburgh Penguins on Friday, April 7 at 7:30 p.m. presented by Bruce Rossmeyer's Harley Davidson, and Tampa Bay on Sunday, April 9 at 5 p.m presented by Norwegian Cruise Line.
Tonight's game will be broadcast live and statewide on Sun Sports.
"There is a lot of excitement around here because every game is important for us," Captain Olli Jokinen said. "Our goal is to make the playoffs and to do that we have to keep winning hockey games. The fans have really helped us build some momentum at home and big crowds are going to be important for us this week."
All three games will have major playoff implications as both Atlanta (one point up) and Tampa Bay (six points up) sit between the Panthers and the eighth and final playoff spot. But the Cats will have ample opportunity to make up ground with four remaining games against both teams including tonight's clash at Tampa Bay.
