Panthers 'Roll Up Sleeves' for Community Blood Centers of South Florida
Fans Can Donate Before Cats-Caps Game On Saturday
SUNRISE, Fla. – On Saturday, April 15, prior to the Florida Panthers-Washington Capitals game, the BankAtlantic Center will be the site of a Community Blood Centers of South Florida (CBCSF) blood drive. CBCSF supplies 47 local hospitals and 136 health care facilities in Miami-Dade, Broward, West Palm Beach, and Monroe counties.
"We are always happy to help CBCSF in any way that we can," Sunrise Sports & Entertainment chief operating officer Michael Yormark said. "I am positive our fans and staff will rise to the occasion and help fulfill a need in the community."
CBCSF will be set up on the 400 level by section 433 and will be taking donations starting at 6:30 p.m. throughout the Panthers-Capitals game presented by Sprint Nextel. Donors are eligible to receive a free T-shirt from CBCSF, a two-for-one voucher to see Clifford the Big Red Dog at the Sinatra Theatre presented by BankAtlantic and a free ticket to the Panthers-Atlanta game on Tuesday, April 18 at the BankAtlantic Center.

One donation can save up to three lives.
Every three seconds someone receives a blood transfusion.
There are no substitutes for blood.
Shortages of all blood types happen during the summer and winter holidays.
"Over the past three years the Florida Panthers have supported blood drives that have impacted the lives of almost 4,000 patients in our local community," said Meredith Wolf, Director of CBCSF. "The strong relationship between the team and CBCSF has proven to be a wonderful gift to our local community."
CBCSF is a non-profit all-voluntary blood collection agency. Each year, CBCSF collects over 160,000 pints of blood and blood products for hospital and kidney dialysis patients. CBCSF is a member of the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB), America's Blood Centers (ABC), the American Society for Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (ASHI) and the Florida Association of Blood Banks (FABB). It is also licensed by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and the state of Florida. In addition, CBCSF is a donor center for the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP).
