SUNRISE, Fla. – The Florida Panthers today announced their 70-game television schedule that will air on FSN Florida.

View 2006-07 TV schedule

As the exclusive regional television home of the Florida Panthers, FSN Florida will air 36 home and 34 away match-ups. In addition, for the second consecutive season, approximately half of FSN Florida's regional telecasts will be produced in high definition (HD), technology ideally suited for viewing fast-paced NHL action. A schedule of those games will be announced at a later date.

"We are very pleased with how our television schedule this season," Panthers Chief Operating Officer Michael Yormark said. "Our fans watching from their homes will get the opportunity to see some exciting match-ups, while also getting to learn more about our players through FSN's Inside the Panthers and Panthers Tonight programming."

The popular INSIDE THE PANTHERS series, hosted by Craig Minervini, returns offering more in-depth player profiles with rare behind-the-scenes stories and interviews, plus episodes giving viewers inside access to other aspects of the team and its operations -- all designed to bring fans closer to their favorite team. The first episode profiles newcomer Todd Bertuzzi and premieres October 9 at 7pm. FSN Florida will also produce and air the FLORIDA PANTHERS PRESEASON SPECIAL, hosted by Minervini and premiering October 2 at 7pm.

After much success last season, the network will continue to work with the Panthers and the NHL on ways to enhance the game telecasts with non-conventional elements such as microphones on players and coaches and additional camera angles.

Dave Strader returns for his second season as the play-by-play announcer for Panthers hockey on FSN Florida. Strader is partnered with Hockey Hall of Famer and four-time Stanley Cup captain Denis Potvin, who returns for his 13th season as analyst. Craig Minervini continues as pre-game host and rinkside reporter.

Regular season coverage on FSN Florida begins Friday, October 6, with the team's home opener against the Boston Bruins. Coverage begins at 7:00pm with a special live, opening night pre-game show followed by the game at 7:30pm.

Highlights on the 2006-07 regional telecast schedule include seven games vs. the defending Stanley Cup champion Carolina Hurricanes; seven games vs. in-state rival Tampa Bay; five games against Washington with last season's rookie of the year Alexander Ovechkin; four games versus Sidney Crosby and the Penguins and four matchups with the New York Rangers and the team's first game against former goalie Roberto Luongo at Vancouver on Jan. 7

Home game telecasts will be preceded by a 30-minute on-site pre-game show, PANTHERS TONIGHT. All games televised on FSN Florida will be available to viewers in the NHL-designated Florida Panthers home television territory South and South Central Florida.
