560 WQAM COVERS EVERY ANGLE OF FLORIDA PANTHERS HOCKEY
Panthers Preview Show to air Tues., Oct. 3 from 8-10 p.m.
SUNRISE, Fla. – Sunrise Sports & Entertainment and the Florida Panthers announced today that 560 WQAM, the flagship station for the Florida Panthers during the 2006-07 NHL season, is once again the place to set your radio dial for complete coverage of the Panthers and everything hockey.
The Panthers and WQAM boast one of the most expansive radio programming schedules in the National Hockey League. The amount of in-depth and diverse shoulder programming is second to none in the NHL, while the broadcast duo of play-by-play man Steve "Goldie" Goldstein and color commentator "Red Deer" Randy Moller is widely considered to be among the best in the sport.
"This is easily the most aggressive radio programming schedule in the history of this franchise," SSE chief operating officer Michael Yormark said. "WQAM continues to provide our organization with the perfect vehicle for fans to stay connected to Florida Panthers hockey."
Aside from broadcasting the games, 560 WQAM will provide in-depth coverage of Panthers hockey through its Panthers Preview Show, Panthers Weekly, Panthers Weekend and Doris Italian Market's "Panthers Insider". Along with these shows, WQAM personalities such as Hank Goldberg will host a number of live remotes before and after Panthers home games from inside the BankAtlantic Center.
The Panthers Season Preview show will take place on Tues., Oct. 3 from 8-10 p.m. and is hosted by the Panthers broadcast duo of Steve Goldstein and Randy Moller. The two Panthers broadcasters will preview the 2006-07 season, taking a look at this year's team and the NHL.
Every Thursday morning on the "Kenny and Bo Show", WQAM will air the "Panthers Weekly" show. GM and Head Coach Jacques Martin will debut on Oct. 10 and appear every other Tuesday morning at 9:15 a.m., while Steve Goldstein will debut Oct. 5 and appear every other Thursday morning between 9-10 a.m., providing insight into the week that was, and the week to come in Panthers hockey.
WQAM's Jesse Agler and Goldstein have teamed up to host the "Panthers Weekend Edition" show set to debut in November. The show will include a week in review of Panthers hockey, plus prominent local and national guests and call-ins from fans.
Every month WQAM will air Doris Italian Market's "Panthers Insider" show. The 30-minute segment will be live on location at specific Doris Italian Markets around the South Florida community. Each month, two different Panthers players will be with Goldstein on site to meet and greet live Panthers listeners. The first "Panthers Insider" is set for Oct. 30 at Doris Italian Market in Pembroke Pines on Pines Blvd.
"Hammerin'" Hank Goldberg and various other WQAM personalities will host a number of live remotes from inside the BankAtlantic Center before and after select Panthers home games. Panthers "Round Table" will begin WQAM's broadcast coverage on Opening Night from 6-7 p.m. Members of the Panthers front office and local sports experts will join Steve Goldstein on Oct. 6 before the Panthers and Bruins "drop that puck" to begin the 2006-07 season.
As always, WQAM is the home of Florida Panthers hockey. All 82 games can be heard live beginning with Jesse Agler and "Panthers Tonight" 30 minutes prior to every Panthers game.
"We are very excited to start another year of great coverage of the Florida Panthers," said Joe Bell, General Manager of WQAM. "Throughout the years we have built a great relationship with the Florida Panthers and this year we have some great new shows like the new "Panthers Insider" special which will provide fans with even more in-depth coverage of their hometown hockey club. We look forward to covering the Panthers all season long and into the playoffs."
