Florida Panthers Foundation and HoneyBaked Ham Food Drive Concludes Tonight

SUNRISE, Fla. – Sunrise Sports & Entertainment announced recently that for the second consecutive year, the Florida Panthers Foundation and HoneyBaked Ham have teamed up with the Cooperative Feeding Program to help Broward County families this holiday season.

During Florida Panthers home games through November 18, fans will have an opportunity to donate food items or purchase HoneyBaked Ham's from tables set up on the BankAtlantic Center's plaza level to donate for the 'Panthers Day of Sharing' at the Cooperative Feeding Program on Nov. 21. The Foundation started collecting food on Thursday, Nov. 2 when the Panthers play the New York Rangers. The wives/girlfriends of Panthers players will accept donations at marked tents on the Spirit Airlines Funway before every game.

"The 'Panther's Day of Sharing' is one of the most exciting and gratifying events of the year for the Panthers Foundation," said Vice President of Community Development Randy Moller. "The Panthers Foundation has set an aggressive goal of collecting at least 500 hams for families this holiday season and we are more than confident our fans will rise to the occasion and make it a reality for South Florida families in need."

The entire staff of Sunrise Sports & Entertainment, select Panthers players and their wives/girlfriends will go to the Cooperative Feeding Program on Tuesday, Nov. 21 and help serve food, unload trucks, stock the pantries, clean the kitchen, and make Thanksgiving boxes for families in need.

Last year the organization broke a record and collected enough items to help 350 families. For more information on the Florida Panthers Foundation and other initiatives, please call Terri Crolic at 954-835-7715.

Over the past year the Florida Panthers Foundation has donated Florida Panthers game tickets and auction items including team-signed jerseys and sticks and Zamboni rides to various South Florida charities. Recipients include: Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Broward County, American Cancer Society, JAFCO, Homestead Air Reserve, Soref JCC, Boys & Girls Club, Miami Disadvantaged Youth, Dept. of Naval Science, American Jewish Community, City of Plantation, St. Jude's Children's Hospital, Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital, H.O.P.E., Camelot Community Center, Stellar Kids, Red Cross of Palm Beach, and the Andy Roddick Foundation.

The Foundation has also made charitable donations to the March of Dimes of Palm Beach, Deliver the Dream, the Boca Raton Junior League, the Genetic Disease Foundation, Junior Achievement, N.I.C.E. Heart Charities, Salvation Army, Red Cross of south Palm Beach, and the Boys & Girls Club.
