McArdle and Frolik Begin World Junior Championship Play

SUNRISE, Fla. – Panthers first-round draft choice LW Kenndal McArdle (20th overall in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft) and his Team Canada squad have earned wins in each of their first two games at the 2007 World Junior Championships, defeating host Sweden 2-0 on Tuesday and handing Team USA a 6-3 loss on Wednesday. Team Canada will not play Thursday, before taking on Germany on Friday, Dec. 29.

Cats first-round prospect C Michael Frolik (10th overall in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft) and his Czech Republic squad dropped their first game of the tournament, falling 3-2 to Russia. The Czech Republic will play their second game of the tournament tomorrow when they take on Team Finland.

Team USA has lost their first two contests, dropping a 2-1 decision to Germany on Tuesday, before suffering a defeat against Team Canada today. Team USA will have a couple of days off before playing Slovakia on Saturday, Dec. 30.
