McArdle & Team Canada Defeat Team USA 2-1 in World Junior Championships

SUNRISE - Panthers first-round draft choice LW Kenndal McArdle (20th overall in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft) and his Team Canada squad have earned a spot in the World Junior Championship Game against Russia to be played on Friday in Leksand, Sweden. McArdle's Team Canada squad defeated Team USA 2-1 in a shootout on Wednesday to advance to the championship round.

Cats first-round prospect C Michael Frolik (10th overall in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft) and his Czech Republic squad fell to host Team Sweden 5-1 Tuesday afternoon in a quarterfinal game. Frolik was named Player of the Game against Belarus on Dec. 30 in the Preliminary Round as the Czech's defeated Belarus 2-1 with Frolik scoring a shorthanded goal and assisting on the other Czech goal.
