BankAtlantic Center Ranked Top 16 In U.S.

'The Center of it All' Places 25th Worldwide Among Top 100 Venues

SUNRISE, FL – Trade publication Pollstar announced in its most recent issue that the BankAtlantic Center ranked 16th in the United States, 21st in North America and 25th worldwide among the top 100 venues in total concert ticket sales for 2006. In addition, the Sinatra Theater presented by BankAtlantic (No. 78), also ranked among the top 100 theatre venues worldwide.

"Clearly, based on this recent ranking, the BankAtlantic Center is South Florida's premier entertainment destination as well as an internationally known and respected venue," SSE chief operating officer Michael Yormark said. "As we move forward with an unbelievable schedule of entertainment for 2007, there is no reason to believe we can't crack the Top 10 venues in the United States."

Over the last year, the BankAtlantic Center hosted sold out concerts for Billy Joel, Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Barbra Streisand, Rolling Stones as well as spectacular shows like The Who, Mary J. Blige, Guns N' Roses, and Trans-Siberian Orchestra. The BankAtlantic Center finished ahead of some of the world's most respected entertainment facilities like Placio De Los Deportes in Mexico City (No. 29), the United Center in Chicago (No. 35), General Motors Place in Vancouver (No. 43), and Acer Arena in Austrailia (No. 39). New York's Madison Square Garden and England's Manchester Evening News Arena finished first and second respectively.

Some of these anticipated events are Rod Stewart on Jan. 12, Percussion Fusion on Jan. 14, Jamie Foxx with Fantasia on Feb. 2, Smuckers Stars on Ice on Feb. 15, Liza Minelli on Feb. 18, Placido Domingo on March 7. As with the network show, there will be a live orchestra to accompany the dances with popular modern day songs that have become a much loved aspect of the program.

Red Hot Chili Peppers (Jan. 31):
