Jacques Martin\'s Post-Game Comments vs. Washington
On if there was any concern after the last game...

I wasn't concerned. I think that we showed through the season that we have good resiliency and good character on the team. Like I said the other night, we played an excellent game. There was just ten minutes where everything they shot went in. They got the breaks and we kind of panicked. We talked about it Friday and regrouped. When you look at the effort that we have been putting forth, I think our record doesn't indicate that. It's important to keep learning and keep getting better because when you do little things right, it pays off. Tonight was a good example. We got some good production out of Weiss and Bouwmeester. I think there were twelve different players that got some points. It was a good opportunity to play people like Kreps tonight and to let Kolnik and Campbell get some more ice time. I think it's disappointing to have lost the points in Carolina. Overall, when you look at the entire game, you played well enough to win. At least we had a shot at them. On Tuesday we are back in our building. We have three games before the All-Star break. Those are going to be a key for us.

On how the team responded when Washington scored to make it 2-1...

I think you have to learn from those situations. I like how we responded. I think it was Weiss who got the third goal. We went right back at them. I think people like Weiss and Peltonen and even a kid like Booth, their lines showed they want the puck. For me, it showed me some good takes.

On the team's aggressive play tonight...

I think we were first on the puck and that's what they need to do, night in and night out.

On if the Panthers just outworked the Capitals tonight...

I would say so. I don't know what the penalties were at the end of the night. They were probably pretty even again. After two periods, I think we had twenty chances. I thought every line played well and it was a good team effort. Eddie made some big saves when he had to.
