Jacques Martin\'s Post-game Comments vs. Washington
On the Panthers performance...

"Yeah I thought it was a good game. In the third period because of penalties they had an opportunity to get back in it, but overall I thought we played a strong game. We won the special teams part of the game with three power play goals, and we got a big performance out of people like Jozef Stumpel. I thought his line was really excellent. Juraj Kolnik gave us a big game on that line, and it seems like the change of lines really helped out with Marty Gelinas having two goals as well."

On Joseph Stumpel's play...

"Yeah he was strong during 5 on 5. He played against the Dainius Zubrus line most of the night, and did a real good job with that and the specialty teams."

On how difficult it was to play with the amount of penalties...

"Well it makes it difficult to get some flow. Certain players are playing more than others when you get into situations like that, but you can't control that."

On being able to jump out to a 5-1 lead...

"We were able to capitalize in the second with a power play goal, and we got two other goals even strength. I think those were the key, really. That Ville Peltonen goal was an important goal for us, and it was a nice play by Juraj Kolnik behind the net."

On Juraj Kolnik's game...

"Yeah I think this might have been his best game in awhile. I think playing with Jozef Stumpel seemed to boost his confidence, and I thought he did a really good job on that line."

On the penalty killing...

"Yeah that was really key for us. I think we got a couple of really great saves from Eddie Belfour, but it was good pressure on the part of the guys we use in those situations. It really helped us."

On jumping over Washington and Boston in the playoff chase...

"We don't control what other teams are doing. We have to put some wins together now and Saturday. We have a big game coming up before we go on the road for two, and we have to take care of our own business."
