5 THINGS EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT TONIGHT'S GAME:

5. The Florida Panthers host the Montreal Canadiens tonight in their final home game of the 2008 calendar year. After tonight, the Panthers will begin a four game road trip with games against the NY Islanders (Dec. 31), Pittsburgh Penguins (Jan. 3), Montreal Canadiens (Jan. 4) and Toronto Maple Leafs (Jan. 6). Additionally, over the next month the Cats will play Montreal three times beginning tonight in South Florida, Jan. 4 in Montreal and once more at the BankAtlantic Center on Jan. 29.

4. D Jay Bouwmeester ranks second in the NHL averaging 27:43 of ice time per game and has recorded 16 points (6-10-16) in his last 21 games played. Additionally, he has 11 points (6-5-11) with a +7 rating in his last 15 games played.

3. Florida's goaltending tandem of Tomas Vokoun and Craig Anderson places eighth in the NHL with a 2.58 GAA and second with a .924 save percentage.

2. Panthers C Michael Frolik ranks 15th among the NHL's rookie scoring leaders with 14 points (5-9-14). In addition, Frolik places fifth among rookie leaders with 59 shots and 10th with five power play points.

1. G Craig Anderson is 5-2-3 in his last 10 games played and ranks first among NHL league leaders with a .941 save percentage and tied for third with a 2.09 GAA. Since Jan. 3, 2008, Anderson has posted a 16-5-3 mark in games that he has started.
