5. The Florida Panthers have posted a 17-7-3 mark since Jan. 1, earning points in 20 of their last 27 games and have not lost back-to-back games in regulation during this span. The Cats currently sit in sixth place in the Eastern Conference with 74 points. After 64 games, Florida (33-23-8) owns their best record since 1999-2000 (35-20-4-5), the last time that the Panthers qualified for the post season. The Panthers open a two-game homestand this evening, hosting the Pittsburgh Penguins tonight, followed by the St. Louis Blues on Saturday, Mar. 7.

4. D Jay Bouwmeester ranks third in the NHL averaging 26:59 of ice time per game and ranks 19th among NHL league leaders with 34 points (13-21-34). He also holds the NHL’s active consecutive games played streak at 324 games played, dating back to the 2003-04 season. Additionally, with his 50th goal of his NHL career on Thursday, Feb. 5, Bouwmeester became just the second Panthers defenseman to record 50 tallies while playing for the Cats, joining Robert Svehla (61).

3. The Panthers goaltending tandem of Tomas Vokoun and Craig Anderson ranks seventh in the NHL with 2.64 GAA and places third in the NHL with a .922 save percentage. Additionally, the duo of Vokoun and Anderson has combined for a 9-3-2 record when they face 40 or more shots.

C Michael Frolik ranks fifth among NHL rookie scoring leaders with 33 points (17-16-33). In addition, Frolik places third in rookie goal scoring (17) and fourth among rookie leaders in shots on goal (118). He recorded the second two goal performance of his NHL career on Tuesday, Mar. 3 at Atlanta, in a 4-3 win over the Thrashers and his first three point effort (1-2-3) of his NHL career on Tuesday, Jan. 27 in the Panthers 3-2 victory over Philadelphia.

1. C Stephen Weiss has recorded six points (1-5-6) with a +4 rating in his last two contests, while D Bryan McCabe has registered seven points (2-5-7) with a +1 rating in his last four games played.
