THE SKINNY
Grandfather is former Soviet coaching legend, Viktor Tikhonov and father was assistant coach with San Jose Sharks. Viktor Jr. holds both American and Russian passport. Won bronze medal with Russia at 2008 World Junior Championships and was named as Best Forward and to All-Star team after scoring five goals (5-2) in seven games.
WHAT CENTRAL SCOUTING SAYS
Was one of the most improved young players in the Russian League in 2007-08. Shows high level of competitiveness and is dedicated team player. Shows keen ability to read and react to the play and is projected to be second line player in the NHL. Needs to continue to improve overall skating and speed.
