The groin injury is something I had at the start of training camp when I was in Calgary. It kind of went away a little bit then it came back on the road trip in Ottawa about halfway through the game.

It got pretty bad through the San Jose game and I wasn't able to go in St. Louis. I tried to go in warm up but I couldn't do it. So that's where we're at now. With a few days off this week I'm trying to rest it and get it healed and, hopefully, we'll be ready to come back this weekend.

There's a lot of rest at first, to be honest with you. Then ice. I'm working on body parts away from that area like glutes and hamstring and stuff like that, just trying to loosen those out and the outside of your quads. The looser you get those areas the better off your groin and hips are going to be.

In the perfect world I'd like to get at least two practices in, but at the same time I'm comfortable with going out and playing. I don't know how the coaches feel about that, but one or two practices should be enough at this stage of the year. I shouldn't be too rusty.

As for the last stretch of games, Montreal, Ottawa, San Jose and St. Louis - I think it was a good stretch for us. I think we played really well. We obviously beat one of the best teams in the league in San Jose at home. We didn't have our best effort the following night, but that's going to happen.

I'm happy with the way we started. I think we've made a lot of progress since day one in camp. I think a lot was thrown our way in terms of new systems and the way we wanted to play, and the guys responded really well. I think we're only going to get a lot better as the years goes on. So there's a lot of positives right now.

Talk to you soon.
