Nine: Back In

The popular first-round draft pick (4th overall) in 2001, is in his seventhh NHL season, all with the Cats. The Toronto, Ontario native had his second straight 40 point season, finishing with 13 goals and 29 assists in 74 games. He also set a career high in game-winning goals with four.
I got a couple practices in this week and I’m ready to get back in tonight. I feel good.
It’s a big road trip for us. Three pretty good teams we don’t see that often, so we’ll have to be at our best. The last time we played Los Angeles they beat us 6 or 7-0, so we’ve got to make sure we’re ready to play. It’s important we have a good start.
I think we learned a lesson in Atlanta, that you have to be ready to play every night. It doesn’t matter if you’re playing San Jose or Atlanta. We beat the best team in the league then lost to one of the teams at the bottom. The league is too tight. You have to have your best game every night win.
It probably wasn’t a fun plane trip home from Atlanta, but it just goes to show you on any given night any team can win in this league. Just because you’re at the bottom of the standings, or the top of the standings… it just doesn’t matter. Every team is a good team.
Three wins would be nice this week. That’s what we’re going for. I don’t want to look too far ahead, though. We have to focus on Los Angeles and make sure we play the right way. If we go that we should get the results at the end.
Talk to you soon.
