Stewart Recalled From Rochester
SUNRISE, Fla. – Florida Panthers general manager Mike Keenan announced today that RW Anthony Stewart has been recalled from the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League. In order to make room for Stewart on the team's 23-man active roster, LW Rostislav Olesz was placed on injured reserve after suffering a right knee sprain on Monday night against the New York Rangers.
Stewart, 20 has played in five games with Rochester this season scoring two goals with three assists. He was selected by Florida with their second choice (first round, 25th overall) in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
The Panthers play at the New Jersey Devils tonight at 7:30 before returning home for a two-game home stand at the BankAtlantic Center. The Cats will face rookie stud Alexander Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals on Thursday at 7 p.m. before welcoming Dany Heatley and the Ottawa Senators on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets for the Washington and Ottawa games are still available at all Ticketmaster outlets and the BankAtlantic Center box office.
