Cats Trade C Petr Taticek to Pittsburgh for D Ric Jackman

SUNRISE, FL – Florida Panthers General Manager Mike Keenan announced today that the club has traded C Petr Taticek to the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for D Ric Jackman.

Jackman, 27, has played in 49 games with the Penguins this season registering six goals with 22 assists and 46 PIM. For his career in the National Hockey League, he has played in 185 games for (Dallas, Boston, Toronto, and Pittsburgh) recording 16 goals with 47 assists and 140 PIM. The Toronto, Ontario, native was drafted by Dallas with their first choice (fifth overall) in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft.

Taticek, 25, appeared in three scoreless games with the Panthers this season. He also has played in 44 games with the Houston Aeros scoring nine goals with 21 assists. The Czech Republic native was drafted by Florida with their first choice (ninth overall) in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.

The Florida Panthers 2005-06 season is presented by ADT Security Services Inc. Upcoming Panthers home games include the Carolina Hurricanes (March 10 & 11) and the Philadelphia Flyers (March 15).
