Panthers Agree to Terms with D Ric Jackman
Sunrise, Fla. – Florida Panthers General Manager Mike Keenan announced today that the club has agreed to terms on a one-year deal with D Ric Jackman.
Jackman, 28, posted career highs last season in games played (54), assists (23), points (30) and penalty minutes (52). Jackman was acquired by the Panthers in a trade from Pittsburgh in exchange for C Petr Taticek on March 9, 2006. He appeared in 15 games for the Panthers last season scoring one goal and one assist.
"Ric is a talented defenseman who we are extremely pleased to have reached an agreement with," said Keenan. "He is a skilled and hard working defensive player that will play an important role in the team's success this season."
The 6-foot-2, 197-pound defenseman has played in 200 career contests, scoring 17 goals with 48 assists and 146 penalty minutes. Of Jackman's 17 career goals, 11 of them came on the power play.
