RW Anthony Stewart Reassigned to Amerks
SUNRISE, Fla. – Florida Panthers General Manager and Head Coach Jacques Martin announced today that D Jassen Cullimore has been recalled from Rochester (AHL). In addition, RW Anthony Stewart has been returned to Rochester.
Cullimore, 34, has played in 643 National Hockey League games with Vancouver (1994-97), Montreal (1997-98), Tampa Bay (1998-2004) and Chicago (2005-06) registering 80 points (21-59-80), while recording 621 penalty minutes. The Simoce, Ontario native won a Stanley Cup with the Tampa Bay Lightning during the 2003-04 campaign.
After inking a one year deal with the Panthers on October 26, Cullimore was assigned to Rochester for a two-week conditioning stint. He played in three games with the Americans recording one assist with a plus-one rating.
Last season, the 6-foot-5, 245-pound defenseman played in 65 games with the Chicago Blackhawks scoring one goal with six assists and 64 penalty minutes. He was originally drafted by the Vancouver Canucks with their second choice (29th overall) in the 1991 NHL Entry Draft.
Stewart, 22, has appeared in six games with the Panthers this season without recording a point, while averaging 7:03 of ice time. In eight games with Rochester this year, Stewart has four goals and three assists.
