Ice & Dice Casino Night Highlights Spectacular Year of Initiatives

SUNRISE, FL – Sunrise Sports & Entertainment is re-launching the Florida Panthers Foundation with a new mission statement, a host of new events and an aggressive strategy with the goal to give back to the South Florida community, support various charities and build a better future for area children.

"Our players and families are excited about our new initiatives," said Vice President of Community Development Randy Moller. "We're looking forward to a year of dedication and perseverance toward achieving our goal of nourishing the growth of South Florida's youth."

The mission of the Florida Panthers Foundation is to assist non-profit children's organizations which focus on children's healthcare, education and cultural needs through corporate partnerships, philanthropic grants and unique resources.

The Foundation has numerous events planned for the November and December holiday season, working in conjunction with organizations such as the Salvation Army.

But the exclamation point of the year will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 1, when the Panthers Ice & Dice Casino Night comes to the BankAtlantic Center.

"The Florida Panthers Foundation will make a resoundingly positive statement with this special night of entertainment," said BankAtlantic Center chief operating officer Michael Yormark. "We expect it to be one of the most spectacular fundraising events in the history of the franchise."

With Florida Panthers players working as dealers, the Foundation anticipates a large crowd for an over the top Las Vegas-style, five-star evening that fans can't afford to miss. Guests will also be able to take part in on-ice activities, games and contests while Panthers general manager Mike Keenan and his wife Nola will serve as honorary chairs of the event.

"Nola and I are excited about the opportunity to be involved in such a worthwhile event," Keenan said. "It's important for this franchise to do whatever it can to support the surrounding community and this is a large step in that direction."

Through teamwork, interaction and education, the Florida Panthers Foundation will work to build a better future for the children of South Florida.
