Florida Panthers Ice & Dice Casino Night a Smashing Success
Event Raises $140,000 for Florida Panthers Foundation
SUNRISE, Fla. – The Florida Panthers Foundation raised $140,000 for local charities during its Ice & Dice Casino Night on Wednesday, Feb. 1 at the BankAtlantic Center. The event, which was presented by Stanford Group Company and co-presented by BankAtlantic, Lexus, the Sun-Sentinel, Sziro Jewelers and Millennium Laser Eye Centers, was the premier charity event of the year for the Florida Panthers Foundation.
With Florida Panthers players working as dealers, over 600 guests attended the over the top Las Vegas-style event, chaired by general manager Mike Keenan and his wife Nola.
"Ice & Dice was a bigger success than we could have ever imagined thanks to the phenomenal support from our players, coaches, sponsors and fans," said Vice President of Community Development Randy Moller. "The first time event was so successful it will begin a new tradition for us at the Foundation. We fully expect next year's event to be even bigger."
Lavish food was provided by Boston Culinary Group, while the list of Casino prizes was highlighted by an exquisite pair of diamond chandelier earrings donated by Sziro Jewelers, an Armadi Closet makeover, a Norwegian Cruise, a membership to the Palm-Aire Country Club, a Sinatra Theatre subscription series and an MSC Cruise.
In addition, some wonderful auction items included Panthers player gift baskets (with items donated by the players themselves), a Wayne Gretzky Serigraph by Leroy Neiman donated by The Art Marketplace, a baby grand keyboard donated by Ivan's Keyboard, Lasik Eye Surgery donated by Millennium Laser Eye Centers, signed jerseys from various NHL teams, a guitar signed by Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band and framed pieces signed by Marilyn Monroe and the cast of the Wizard of Oz.
