Panthers Foundation to Host 50\/50 Lucky Ticket Drawing
Foundation will Partner with Local Charities during 2007-08 Season

SUNRISE, Fla. – The Florida Panthers Foundation announced today that it will be hosting a 50/50 Lucky Ticket Drawing during select home games of the 2007-08 Florida Panthers season.

“We are excited to introduce the 50/50 Lucky Ticket Drawing and we look forward to making it a success,” said Foundation Executive Director Alaina Miller. “This is a wonderful opportunity for our Foundation to partner with local non-profit groups and aid them in raising much needed funds for their organizations. We look forward to working with organizations that fit within our mission statement of aiding children in the South Florida area and making our 50/50 lucky ticket drawing a success for the entire South Florida community.”

Fans will be able to obtain tickets from the Florida Panthers Foundation and one lucky fan will be randomly selected to win half of the funds collected at that night’s game. Tickets will be available until the end of the second intermission and the winning number will be presented during a stoppage in play during the third period. Fans can also check the community page at www.floridapanthers.com for winning numbers and collect their cash prize before 5 pm on the following business day.

Local non-profit groups can apply on the Community page of the Florida Panthers website to partner up with the Foundation for this exciting fundraiser. The Florida Panthers Foundation will share the proceeds from each raffle with the participating organization.

Pat Pedraja, a 12-year-old boy whose mission is to help children with leukemia, is raising money for the National Marrow Donor Program and will be the first 50/50 lucky ticket partner. Pat, diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia last year, has been traveling cross-country on his national “Drive for Donors” campaign. He created this campaign when he learned that 70-percent of people who need bone marrow transplants will not find a match within their own family and that there is a severe shortage of registered donors, especially minority donors. BankAtlantic has teamed up with Pat and Drive for Donors to help distribute raffle tickets at the BankAtlantic Center on Saturday, Oct. 6 as the Panthers host their home opener against the New Jersey Devils at 7 pm.

Over the past year the Florida Panthers Foundation has donated Florida Panthers game tickets and auction items including team-signed jerseys and sticks and Zamboni rides to various South Florida charities. Recipients include: Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Broward County, American Cancer Society, JAFCO, American Heart Heroes, Soref JCC, Boys & Girls Club, Miami Disadvantaged Youth, Dept. of Naval Science, American Jewish Community, City of Plantation, Children’s Harbor, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, SOS Chilren’s Village, Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, H.O.P.E., Camelot Community Center, Stellar Kids, Red Cross of Palm Beach, the Andy Roddick Foundation, and Rock and Wrap It Up!.

The Foundation has also made charitable donations to: Junior Achievement, Salvation Army, Red Cross of South Palm Beach, the Boys & Girls Club, The National Multiple Sclerosis Society, The Transplant Foundation, The Victory School, and Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Broward County.
