Families received a box of food containing such Thanksgiving items as stuffing, cranberry sauce, gravy and a turkey courtesy of the Florida Panthers Foundation and HoneyBaked Ham.

“It is important for us, as professional athletes, to be mindful of those that may be less fortunate, especially around the holidays,” Horton said. “That said, myself and my teammates were more than happy to participate in this wonderful program, to lend a hand, and hopefully, have a positive impact on needy families during this holiday season.”

“It was a truly remarkable to be able to help nearly 400 families have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday,” said Executive Director Alaina Miller. “Our fans once again demonstrated their generosity and donated an impressive amount of food at our food drives at the BankAtlantic Center. I would also like to thank the staff as well as our players and the Florida Panthers wives and girlfriends for assisting us in this important cause.”

During Florida Panthers home games through Nov. 12, fans had an opportunity to donate food items for the ‘Panthers Day of Sharing’ at the Cooperative Feeding Program on Nov. 14.  The entire staff of Sunrise Sports & Entertainment, select Panthers players and their wives/girlfriends then volunteered at the Cooperative Feeding Program on Wednesday and helped serve food, unload trucks, stock the pantries, clean the kitchen, and make Thanksgiving boxes for families in need.
