Florida Panthers Foundation Raises Over $50,000 at Golf Classic
Over 160 Guests Attended Inaugural Event presented by Hyundai

SUNRISE, FL – The Florida Panthers Foundation raised over $50,000 at their Inaugural Golf Classic presented by Hyundai on Monday, Jan. 14 at Weston Hills Country Club. Over 160 guests attended the sold-out event which featured fans teeing it up with Florida Panthers players, coaches and broadcasters.  The Inaugural Golf Classic was additionally sponsored by IKEA, Sziro Jewelry, Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital and Dr. Steven D. Gelbard, M.D., P.A.

The Inaugural Golf Classic began with a 10:30 shotgun tee off on the Tour Course at Weston Hills Country Club. Each foursome was joined by a Panthers player, coach or broadcaster and throughout the day each guest enjoyed gourmet catering and beverages on each hole of the course.

“I am proud to announce that our Inaugural Golf Classic presented by Hyundai raised over $50,000,” said Executive Director Alaina Miller. “The Inaugural Golf Classic was an outstanding event and I would like to thank the entire Florida Panthers team for their support of this event. Additionally, I would like to thank Weston Hills Country Club and their exceptional staff for hosting this event. Of course, this event would not have been as successful without the generous support of our sponsors and fans. We look forward to the same level of support for our 3rd Annual Ice & Dice Casino Night presented by Publix Super Markets on February 28.”

“On behalf of the South Florida Hyundai Dealers Association, we are proud to be the presenting sponsor of the Inaugural Florida Panthers Foundation Golf Classic,” said Rick Case of the South Florida Hyundai Dealers Association. “The event was a huge success and we are already looking forward to next year's tournament.”

The Florida Panthers Foundation is currently underway with planning the 3rd Annual Ice & Dice Casino Night, presented by Publix Super Markets. This event, which is the signature fundraising event of the 2007-08 season, is being held at the Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa on Thursday, February 28 from 7 – 11 p.m. Sponsorships are still available, for more information, please call (954) 835-7715.
