Back In The Big Apple
Good morning. It’s been a few days since my last blog. Sorry about the delay in sending this.
It’s been another busy week at Sunrise Sports & Entertainment. On the business side, our focus has been to sell tickets, suites and sponsorships for next season. So far, I like our momentum. We are moving the needle and getting positive feedback from the market.
Additionally we are pushing hard to sell all available inventory for our upcoming Cirque Du Soleil shows. This is a huge event for us as we have 17 dates. If you have not purchased tickets yet, you should. Saltimbanco is an amazing show and one you will not want to miss.
This week I've met with many of our current sponsors to discuss their renewals. They include IKEA, Grand Bahama Island, Muvico, MetroPCS and Panera Bread. I'm pleased to report that all of these partners will be back with us. They are all great brands and leaders in their industries and we are honored to have them as part of our family.
Yesterday, we met with the NHL to finalize our season-opening trip to Helsinki, Finland in September. It looks like we might play two exhibition games abroad in addition to the two games against the Chicago Blackhawks. Everyone seems to be very excited about this opportunity, and the games have already sold out.
Today, I am on my way to New York for the day. I have six meetings. I will return to South Florida tonight. Needless to say, I flew JetBlue and the flight was fantastic. There is no coincidence that they just announced a profitable quarter to start the year. They are awesome!
Sid Greenfeig, our VP of Entertainment Programming just returned from Los Angeles yesterday and has lots of surprises for us. We have already announced some terrific shows for the summer and we have a few more to go. Sid does a great job for us and has really put our building on the map. Well, its time to walk into my first meeting. I will update you tonight on my day. Have a great Thursday and keep following my every move!
