Good morning friends. I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend.
I am back on the road this morning for a quick meeting in New York and then back to South Florida. As always, I'm flying JetBlue and my flight is on time.
I had a very productive weekend. Good family time and I was also able to catch up on a lot of work. I was in the office yesterday with my assistant Heidi trying to clean up my office. If you have ever visited me, you know exactly why I needed some extra time to get things in order.
This is going to be a very busy week – A lot of meetings regarding our business and hockey operations. June, July and August are always pivotal from a planning and execution perspective and we are closing in quickly on the end of May.
I hope you've been watching the NHL playoffs. Four great teams in the Conference finals but it looks like we are headed for a Red Wings-Penguins rematch in the Stanley Cup Finals. It’s probably the matchup we all wanted and it will be fun to watch Crosby and Malkin take on the defending champs. I'm picking the Penguins in six if they both get there.
I have found time to catch some of the NBA playoffs as well. I'm rooting for the Magic and I really like the way they have played against the Cavs thus far. Stan Van Gundy has done a great job of adjusting during the series and his game plan of shutting down all of LeBron's teammates has really worked. As we all know, one player can't beat a good balanced team with multiple threats. My prediction: Magic in six.
Back to our business for a moment. This week starts our run of 17 Cirque Du Soleil shows. Saltimbanco should be a great performance and if ticket sales to date are any indication, it’s going to be a huge success. If you have yet to secure your tickets, log on to bankatlanticcenter.com for information. Enjoy the show.
A few weeks ago, I asked our fans and friends to send me ideas for our single game ticket sales and overall ticket pricing. I want to thank all of you who sent me your feedback and suggestions. We have developed a new strategy here that I think will have a very positive impact on our business and plan on unveiling it over the next two weeks.
Well, I'm about to land in New York. I'm very excited about my meeting this morning. If all goes well, we may have an exciting announcement to make in the coming weeks.
I will be back in South Florida tonight to host a dinner for some out of town guests in Weston. If you happen to be at Il Toscano, come by my table and say hello. I would love to see you.
That's it for now. Have a terrific day and make it productive and let's catch up later in the week.
