Beginning with tonight’s Florida Panthers-Ottawa Senators game, the BankAtlantic Center will host one of the most busy and exciting 30-day stretches in its history. Between now and Nov. 28, the ‘Center of it All’ will host 13 events, culminating in a Thanksgiving Week that features three hockey games, the Thanksgiving holiday, the Andrea Bocelli concert, and one other special Panthers announcement. (You’ll start getting hints on that in early November.)
Take an extended view of the BankAtlantic Center’s schedule over the next six months, and it’s clear why our arena is considered the premier venue of its kind in South Florida. On Halloween eve, this Saturday, we host Star Wars In Concert, which is just one of a number of incredible shows already on the calendar including Trans-Siberian Orchestra, The Radio City Christmas Spectacular, Dane Cook, Taylor Swift, Bon Jovi, Y100 Jingle Ball with Shakira, and two other huge shows that will be announced in the next couple weeks.
Simply put, the entertainment value at the BankAtlantic Center for all of our constituents, especially when you include hockey games, concerts, the Orange Bowl Basketball Classic and more, is second to none. No matter what you’re looking for, whether it’s hip-hop, holiday shows, sporting events, opera, country, rock or pop – we can give it to you at the ‘Center of it All’.
But tonight we’ve got a big game on our hands against the streaking Senators. I know many of our fans are looking forward to seeing youngsters Michal Repik and Kenndal McArdle in action tonight. Both forwards started the season in Rochester and have led the Americans to the best record in the American Hockey League through 10 games (8-1-1). Repik leads the team in scoring with 11 points, while McArdle has six points and is plus-3 so far this season.
Fans will also be happy to hear that David Booth stopped by practice yesterday to visit with his teammates at incredible ICE in Coral Springs. Once again, I know your well wishes to him and Radek Dvorak have meant a lot to both players, and our whole organization.
Nonetheless, I’m excited to see our team back on the ice tonight against Ottawa in front of their hometown fans. It should be a great night to “Rock The Rink” at the BankAtlantic Center, and I would encourage all of our fans to bring their passion and excitement to the game, and send our guys off to Dallas and St. Louis on a high note.
Thanks for reading and go Panthers.
