MY360: Stretching Out
Well Panthers fans, we are down to the home stretch of the 2009-10 NHL regular season and we kick off our final four of Cats home games at the BankAtlantic Center with an always exciting visit from the New York Rangers.

The Panthers will be in third jersey blue when they welcome former captain Olli Jokinen and the Broadway Blueshirts back to the BankAtlantic Center.

As it has been almost every night for the last 30 days, the ‘Center of it All’ will be buzzing tomorrow night for one of the premier Cats games of the season. Since March 1, the BankAtlantic Center has been one of the busiest entertainment venues in the world, hosting an incredible 22 events in the month of March including a streak of 18 events in 18 days and sold out shows from Michael Buble, Eric Clapton, Taylor Swift and more.

April is kicking off in the same manner, with four Panthers home games including Fan Appreciation Day, in the next week, HBO Boxing on April 10, and Bon Jovi on April 18.

All told, over a half a million guests are expected through the BankAtlantic Center’s turnstiles from the beginning of March and through April, only underscoring our reputation as one of the premier arena venues in North America.

On the hockey side, I was in Boston last night for an incredible performance by goalie Scott Clemmensen in a 1-0 shutout win over Boston at the T.D. Garden. In addition to the game, I was also able to spend some time with some clients including John McDonnell, the Chief Operating Officer of Patron, one of our spirits partners.

Joining us in Boston were the winners of the BankAtlantic Ultimate Goal promotion, who followed the team from South Florida to Buffalo to Beantown and back. The promotion was part of an exciting season-long campaign that was activated through the SSE Media Network including Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, FloridaPanthers.com and more.

In addition to Clemmensen’s performance, Panthers fans should also be excited about the play of youngsters such as Michael Frolik, who has 19 goals on the year, Dmitry Kulikov who is consistently playing over 20 minutes a game at this point in the season, Jason Garrison, Shawn Matthias, Nathan Horton and Stephen Weiss, who currently has a career-high 27 goals.

Starting Saturday, it will be an exciting week of hockey to end the season with Ottawa and New Jersey coming in to town and the home and home series with rival Tampa Bay to end the regular season. Fan Appreciation Day on April 11 should be particularly exciting with the popular annual Shirts Off Our Backs Auction and a number of other surprises in store to show Panthers fans just how much we truly appreciate their passion and support.

Happy Passover and Happy Easter to those that are celebrating, and if you’re wondering about my Final Four picks, I’ve got Duke over Butler in the final. Thanks for reading and go Cats.

That said, Yormark continues to expand the business and build the SSE brand through projects such as the expansion of incredible ICE and the development of the area surrounding the BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise through Oz.

Before joining SSE, Yormark spent four seasons with Palace Sports & Entertainment and the Tampa Bay Lightning, most recently as Executive Vice President, where he was a Tampa Bay Business Journal Forty Under 40 Award Winner and brokered the naming rights partnership that saw the Ice Palace become the St. Pete Times Forum. He has also served as Vice President of Integrated Sales and Broadcasting for the Columbus Blue Jackets.
