Florida Panthers
SUNRISE, FL – The Florida Panthers announced today their 82-game 2010-11 regular season schedule, highlighted by 26 home games on either Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday. It marks Florida’s 18th year in the NHL and 12th season at the BankAtlantic Center, since the venue opened in 1998. The 2010-11 season is presented by Party City.

Florida opens the regular season with a three-game Western Canada road trip beginning on Sunday, Oct. 10 in Edmonton at 8 p.m. (EST), followed by games in Vancouver (Oct. 11) and Calgary (Oct. 14). The Panthers return to South Florida and will play their first home contest on Saturday, Oct. 16 at 7 p.m. (EST), against their intrastate rivals the Tampa Bay Lightning. Florida closes out the 2010-11 campaign with a home game against the defending Southeast Division Champion Washington Capitals on Saturday, April. 9 at 7 p.m (EST).

“We have worked diligently with the National Hockey League and our hockey operations department to get the best possible schedule for our team, with the best opponents on the best days for our fans. From both a competitive and marketing standpoint we believe we have put together one of the best schedules in franchise history,” said President & Chief Operating Officer Michael Yormark. “This season’s schedule features exciting games against the Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks, Eastern Conference Champion Philadelphia Flyers, Detroit Red Wings, and our traditional holiday match-ups versus the New York Rangers, Boston Bruins and Montreal Canadiens. With our new dynamic pricing structure for single game tickets and a more intimate seating capacity, fans are encouraged to buy a season ticket plan now in order to get the best value for Panthers tickets.”

“I’m pleased with how this year’s schedule sets up for our club,” said Panthers General Manager Dale Tallon. “We have decreased the number of single game road trips from the previous season and we have better organized our travel into multi-game road trips. Additionally, we play the majority of our home contests in the second half of the season, with three long homestands in January, February and March that should prove to be exciting and important games for our club, as well as for our fans.”

2010-11 Regular Season Highlights:
Thanksgiving Feast: The Panthers will host three games during Thanksgiving week beginning with the Pittsburgh Penguins (Nov. 22), Boston Bruins (Thanksgiving Eve-Nov. 24) and the New York Rangers (Nov. 26).

Holiday Spectacular: After the Christmas holiday the Panthers will host the Boston Bruins (Dec. 27), Montreal Canadiens on New Year’s Eve at 5 p.m., and the New York Rangers (Jan. 2) at 5 p.m.

March Break: The Panthers will host a season long seven-game homestand from Mar. 6-19, when the club will play the Washington Capitals (Mar. 6), Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks (Mar. 8), Ottawa Senators (Mar. 10), Tampa Bay Lightning (Mar. 12), Eastern Conference Champion Philadelphia Flyers (Mar. 15), Toronto Maple Leafs (Mar. 17) and New York Islanders (Mar. 19). It marks the club’s longest homestand since the 2007-08 season and is tied for the longest in franchise history.

Return of the Wings: The Detroit Red Wings return to South Florida and will face-off against the Panthers on Feb. 18. It marks the first time that the Red Wings will play at the BankAtlantic Center since Nov. 2008.

Buy Early: Under the new dynamic pricing structure, all Panthers games will be classified in one of four categories: bronze (least expensive and below 2009-10 prices), silver, gold and platinum (most expensive). However, as demand increases for single game tickets, prices will increase, as ticket inventory declines for each high demand game. Pricing structure classification cannot decrease, so to get the best value fans are encouraged to purchase season seat packages now, or buy single game tickets as soon as they are released in September. Fans interested in buying a season seat packages (starting at 13-game mini plan) are guaranteed the best value and can contact a ticket representative at (954) 835-PUCK.

Shrinking the House: The Panthers will reduce the overall capacity to 17,040 for Cats home games during the 2010-11 NHL regular season. The reduced seating capacity will be accomplished though the installation of a 22-piece tarp system sponsored by Party City that will cover the last six rows of seats located on the terrace level.

It’s A Party Every Night: It will be a party atmosphere at the BankAtlantic Center for every Panthers gamenight during the 10-11 season. The revamped game presentation will draw on the passionate and emotional experience and party atmosphere of Panthers home games at the BankAtlantic Center. From the moment Panthers fans enter the BankAtlantic Center parking lot (for free), to puck drop, to the in-game action, to intermission, to the last exciting minutes of the third period, to the final buzzer, to the postgame celebration – Cats hockey represents non-stop, fast-paces action packed fun experience for fans of all ages, and the entire family.

Start Times: For the fourth consecutive season, all home weekday games will begin at 7:30 p.m., with Saturday games starting at 7 p.m. and four Sunday matinee 5 p.m. games, unless circumstances – such as national television start times or special holiday games  – dictate otherwise.

Get to Play Them All: During the 2010-11 campaign, the Panthers will play all 29 NHL clubs. Florida will play the entire Western Conference, once at home or on the road and they will also play three select Western Conference teams (Chicago, Columbus, Nashville) twice, once on the road and once at home.
