Panthers Announce \u201CSellout For Charity\u201D Program
SUNRISE, Fla. – Sunrise Sports & Entertainment announced today the new Florida Panthers Sellout For Charity Program in which local charitable organizations will receive a significant percentage of every ticket sold for select games throughout the 2010-11 NHL season. The Panthers have set a goal of donating $100,000 through this program in support of: “children’s health and welfare (Dec. 17),” “building a better community (Jan. 11),” “physical and developmental disabilities (Feb. 8),” and “combating cancer (March 15).”

“On the heels of our donation to the Broward Health Foundation, our charitable suite announcement from our players, the sold out Face Off Luncheon, and our work with Light The Night, this is yet another statement by the Florida Panthers franchise that we are committed to supporting the South Florida community,” said SSE president & COO Michael Yormark. “That said, we’re looking forward to working with local charities to sellout each designated Panthers game and make a significant contribution toward their mission.”

Charitable organizations can apply for the “Sellout For Charity” program by filling out the online form here or by contacting Florida Panthers Foundation Executive Director Rachel Brooke at 954.835.7714 or brooker@sselive.com. The Panthers will choose one South Florida charity to be the beneficiary for each of the four designated games in 2010-11. Charities are encouraged to select the game/cause that most accurately represents their charitable mission.

The “Sellout For Charity” schedule is as follows:
Friday, Dec. 17, 2010 vs. Buffalo
Children’s Health and Welfare
Encompassing those organizations that support children’s health-related issues, child protection services, and are in existence for the betterment of children as a whole.

Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2011 vs. Washington
Building a Better Community
Encompassing those organizations that are in existence to develop our local community.

Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2011 vs. St. Louis
Physical and Developmental Disabilities
Encompassing those organizations that serve the needs of individuals and families affected by physical
and developmental disabilities.

Tuesday, March 15, 2011 vs. Philadelphia
Combating Cancer
Encompassing any organization that provides services and support to individuals and families affected, or those organizations in existence to research and develop cures for cancer.

Once a charity is chosen, the Panthers will work with that organization to reach out to local companies and prominent members of the South Florida business community to help “sellout” the designated game and secure the largest donation possible.

“Sellout For Charity” comes on the heels of a number of significant charitable commitments by the Panthers organization including the charitable suite purchased by Panthers players, the $400,000 donation to the Broward Health Foundation, the “Saves For Kids” program with goalies Tomas Vokoun and Scott Clemmensen, the sold out Florida Panthers Foundation Face Off Luncheon which raised more than $165,000, and President & COO Michael Yormark’s chairmanship of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light The Night Walk in Broward County with a goal of $100,000.

In addition, Panthers players, staff and personalities are committed to staying active in the South Florida community all season long with nearly 100 appearances already on the calendar for the 2010-11 season. Panthers fans can also look forward to the two remaining pillar events for the Florida Panthers Foundation: the Foundation Golf Tournament on Dec. 13 at Heron Bay Golf Club in Coral Springs and Bowling Event on Feb. 5 at Strikes in Boca Raton – both in support of the fight against pediatric cancer.
