Panthers Acquire D Alexander Sulzer From Nashville In Exchange For Conditional Seventh Round Pick In 2012 NHL Draft

SUNRISE, Fla. – Florida Panthers General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the club has acquired D Alexander Sulzer from the Nashville Predators in exchange for a conditional seventh round pick in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.
 
“We are very pleased to welcome Alexander Sulzer to our organization,” said Tallon. "Alex is an experienced and versatile defenseman who has played in the German Elite League, as well as for his native country in the Olympics and World Championships. We look forward to his contributions to our team.”
 
Sulzer, 26, is a 6-1, 204-pound defenseman from Kaufbeuren, Germany. He has played in 53 career NHL games, all with Nashville (2009-11), registering a goal and five assists for six points and 18 PIM. He has played 31 games for the Predators this year, registering one goal, three assists and nearly 18 minutes of ice time per game.
 
Sulzer, was Nashville's third round pick (No. 92 overall) in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, and has registered 96 points (25-74-96) in 145 games with the Predators’ AHL affiliate the Milwaukee Admirals (2007-10).
 
Florida plays its final game of a four-game road trip tonight when they visit the Atlanta Thrashers at 7:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on FOX Sports Florida and on Sports Radio 560 WQAM.
