Panthers Acquire D Evan Oberg and 2013 Third Round Draft Pick From Vancouver in Exchange for F Chris Higgins

SUNRISE, Fla. – Florida Panthers General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the club has acquired D Evan Oberg and a Third Round Draft Pick in 2013 from the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for F Chris Higgins.
“We are pleased to have acquired a promising defensive prospect in Evan Oberg and another high draft pick for the 2013 NHL Entry Draft,” said Tallon.
Oberg, 23, has played four career games in the NHL for Vancouver without registering a point. The Forestburg, Alta. Native has played 108 career games for Manitoba (AHL) registering 10 goals, 27 assists and 37 points.
