#15 North American Skater
Saint John, QMJHL
Position: Center Shoots: Right
Height: 6'1" Weight: 178
Born: 10/28/92 Born In: Fredericton, NB
Zack Phillips had a stand out regular season for the Saint John Sea Dogs of the QMJHL, recording 95 points in 67 games. His postseason has been filled with heroics, as Phillips had 16 points and two game winning goals through two rounds. His team leading 15 power play goals and third place league wide ranking of a plus-48, further speak to Phillips’ skill set.

Phillips left home at the age of 13 to attend Eaglebrook School in Deerfield, Massachusetts. Afterwards, he played hockey at Lawrence Academy, where he led his team in scoring and was selected to the All-New England team.

Saint John Head Coach Gerard Gallant: "Zack has great vision and is strong on the puck. He's a solid center and has come a long way in a short time. He kind of reminds me of an Adam Oates-type of player … he's strong on the puck down low and in the corners and has nifty hands."

Phillips Makes Good Decisions On And Off The Ice
(06.06.11) Zack Phillips wanted no part of Canadian junior hockey. So at 14 years old, the scrawny 5-foot-2 center left his Fredericton, N.B., home for Massachusetts. He believed a few years in prep school would prepare him for NCAA hockey, which he felt would be a better path for his development.
"I wasn't mature enough for (junior) yet, I think," said Phillips, whose Saint John Sea Dogs captured their first MasterCard Memorial Cup championship against the host Mississauga St. Michael's Majors. "I thought college was going to be the better route for me because I was small and I had a couple more years before I could play college if I was in junior."
