NEWS: Oleksiak Has Skill-Set To Match Giant Size (06.08.11) With a premium placed on large defenseman, Jamieson Oleksiak definitely fits the bill (6’7, 244 pounds). He was the second-youngest player invited to Team USA’s final camp for the 2011 World Junior Championships. Oleksiak didn’t turn 18 until this past December, but still led his junior team with a plus-13 rating, and was second among defenseman with 12 points in 34 games. Oleksiak’s father Richard lettered in track at Colgate University and is in the Nichols School Hall of Fame for football, basketball, and track. Jamieson’s older brother Jake, was the captain of his Nichols School hockey team. |
