Panthers Announce 2011-12 Regular Season Schedule
SUNRISE, FL – The Florida Panthers announced today their 82-game 2011-12 regular season schedule, highlighted by 27 home games on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. It marks Florida’s 19th year in the National Hockey League and 13th season at the BankAtlantic Center since the venue opened in 1998. The 2011-12 season is presented by Party City.

Florida opens the regular season with a two-game road trip beginning on Saturday, Oct 8 against the N.Y. Islanders, followed by a road game against the Pittsburgh Penguins (Oct. 11).  For the second consecutive year, the Panthers will open the home portion of their schedule against their intrastate rivals, the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday, Oct. 15 at 7:30 p.m.  Florida closes out the 11-12 campaign at home against Carolina on Saturday, April 7 at 7:30 p.m.

“We worked diligently with General Manager Dale Tallon and the National Hockey League to put together the best possible schedule that benefits our organization from both a competitive and marketing standpoint,” said President & Chief Operating Officer Michael Yormark. “This season’s schedule features two visits from the Stanley Cup Champion Boston Bruins and a visit from the Western Conference Champion Vancouver Canucks, as well as our traditional holiday match-ups against the New York Rangers, Toronto Maple Leafs and the Montreal Canadiens. We look forward to welcoming Panthers fans back to the BankAtlantic Center in October.”

“The 2011-12 schedule is an exciting one for both our team and our fans,” said Panthers General Manager Dale Tallon. “With eight of our last 15 games on home ice, including two of our last three, it should prove to be a thrilling stretch run to the season.”

2011-12 Schedule Highlights:
Return of Red: “We See Red” signifies the Panthers’ passion, aggressiveness, new blood, attitude, desire and commitment to winning under the leadership of General Manager Dale Tallon and Head Coach Kevin Dineen. Beginning opening night, fans can expect to see an enhanced game presentation focused on the ‘We See Red” campaign that will draw on the excitement and non-stop action of Panthers hockey. In addition, the Panthers will unveil a new home jersey at the NHL Entry Draft on June 24, which will be worn by the club beginning on opening night.

Florida will host home contests on every day of the week including eight Sunday contests, five Monday games, six Tuesdays, three Wednesdays, five Thursdays, seven Fridays and seven Saturday contests.

During that stretch Florida will play Tampa Bay (Nov. 25 and Nov. 26), Los Angeles (Dec. 1), San Jose (Dec. 3), Washington (Dec. 5). Boston (Dec. 8), Buffalo (Dec. 9) and the Rangers (Dec. 11).

Start Times: All Panthers home games (Monday-Saturday) will now begin at 7:30 p.m. and all Sunday home contests will start at 5 p.m. unless circumstances – such as national television start times or special holiday games – dictate otherwise. The Panthers home game on New Year’s Eve against the Montreal Canadiens will begin at 6 p.m.

Play Them All: During the 2011-12 campaign, the Panthers will play all 29 other NHL clubs. Florida will play the entire Western Conference, once at home or on the road and will also play three select Western Conference teams (Los Angeles, Chicago, Minnesota) twice - once on the road and once at home.

Get Your Tickets Now: For the second consecutive season, the Panthers will sell tickets under the dynamic pricing structure. All Panthers games will be classified in one of four categories: bronze (least expensive), silver, gold and platinum (most expensive). However, as demand increases and ticket inventory becomes more scarce for single games, prices will increase.
