Yonkman joins D Brian Campbell, F Tomas Kopecky, G Jose Theodore, D Ed Jovanovski, Scottie Upshall, F Kris Versteeg and C Marcel Goc as new Panthers signings over the last week.
Yonkman, 30, has played in 66 career National Hockey League games for Washington (2001-06) and Phoenix (2010-11) registering nine points (1-8-9) and 129 PIM. The 6-foot-6, 247-pound defenseman has also played in 464 games in the American Hockey League for Portland (2001-05), Hershey (2005-06), Milwaukee (2006-2010) and San Antonio (2010-11), registering 59 points (14-45-59) and 820 PIM.
