Panthers Training Camp Hits Ice On Saturday, Sept. 17
Training Camp festivities include preseason doubleheader, player autographs, meet and greets, question and answer sessions with team personnel and more
 
SUNRISE, FL –Sunrise Sports & Entertainment announced today that Florida Panthers Training Camp will begin with medical and fitness testing on Friday, September 16 (media availability TBA) followed by the first on-ice practice on Saturday, Sept. 17 at 9 a.m. at the Saveology.com Iceplex.
 
The Panthers are expected to have 65 players (39 forwards, 20 defensemen and six goalies) attend both their rookie and main training camp. All training camp practices (unless otherwise noted) will be held at the Saveology.com Iceplex and are free and open to the public. A complete training camp schedule can be found below.
 
On Monday, Sept. 19, the Panthers will host the second annual Hockey Day in South Florida, a daylong fan festival highlighted by a number of incredible fan events including a historic preseason doubleheader with the Panthers hosting Nashville Predators at 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m on the Lexus Rink at the BankAtlantic Center. In addition, fans will have the opportunity to receive autographs from select Panthers players, interact with team broadcasters and front office personnel, and take part in a variety of other interactive games and contests including the Panthers Patrol on the JetBlue Tarmac.
 
Additional notes on Panthers Training Camp include:
  • Free open viewing of all Panthers training practices (see schedule below)
  • Other preseason home games at the BankAtlantic Center vs. Tampa Bay Lightning and Dallas Stars (Saturday, Sept. 24 at 7:30 p.m. and Tuesday, Sept. 27 at 7:30 p.m., respectively)
  • Road preseason games at the Tampa Bay Lightning and Dallas Stars (Friday, Sept. 23 at 7:30 p.m. and Thursday, Sept. 29 at 8:30 p.m,. respectively)
 
Rookie Camp Reminder: (Sept. 10-14): Florida will host a rookie camp for the club’s prospects beginning on Saturday, Sept. 10 at 9 a.m. at the Saveology.com Iceplex. After a day of training, the Panthers will host the Tampa Bay Lightning’s rookies on Sunday, Sept. 11 at 6 p.m. at the Saveology.com Iceplex. Next, Florida will host the Nashville Predators’ rookies on Tuesday, Sept. 13 at noon, followed by the Lightning’s rookies again on Wednesday, Sept. 14 at noon at the Saveology.com Iceplex.
