Panthers Foundation Announces Upcoming Events
Panthers Players to Appear in the Community Throughout November

SUNRISE, Fla. – The Florida Panthers Foundation today announced three upcoming outreach initiatives in the South Florida community. Panthers players will take part in the Panthers Foundation Meal & Skate on Tuesday, Nov. 1 and will visit patients at the Chris Evert Children’s Hospital on Friday, Nov. 4. Additionally, the Panthers Foundation will be collecting food for needy families in the South Florida area at three home games throughout November.
Scottie Upshall, Stephen Weiss and Erik Gudbranson will participate in the Florida Panthers Foundation Meal & Skate from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Saveology.com Iceplex in Coral Springs on Tuesday, Nov. 1. Children from SOS Children’s Villages and families from Children Battling Cancer will take the ice to skate with the Panthers players, who are subject to change, before enjoying food generously donated by Café Bella Sera.
Sean Bergenheim, Marcel Goc and Gudbranson will visit patients at Chris Evert Children’s Hospital after practice on Friday, Nov. 4 at approximately 1 p.m. During their visit, the players, who are subject to change, will distribute Florida Panthers goodie bags to the hospital’s young patients.
The Florida Panthers will also be collecting canned and non-perishable goods at home games on Sunday, Nov. 13 vs. Philadelphia starting at 3:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 19 vs. Pittsburgh starting at 6 p.m. and Monday, Nov. 21 vs. New Jersey starting at 6 p.m. Fans are encouraged to bring canned goods to the JetBlue Tarmac at the BankAtlantic Center in support of needy families through the end of the first period during these games.
The Florida Panthers Foundation raised more than $200,000 for South Florida charities during its two signature events last season – the Face-Off Luncheon and Golf Classic – and donated more than $1 million in kind during the 2010-11 season overall. Now with three signature events, including the IOA Ice & Dice Casino Night, the Florida Panthers Foundation will have an even more significant presence in the South Florida charity scene during the 2011-12 season.
