Blog 242: An Exciting March
Well Panthers fans, there is no question we are in the middle of an exciting “March to the Playoffs”, and I wanted to take a moment to commend all of our supporters for the incredible passion and energy they have brought to the BankAtlantic Center all season long.

Even before this season began, our fans created a palpable excitement around the draft, our free agent signings, and even during training camp. And from Opening Night onward, the home ice support has helped propel this team to a point where we are now competing for a Stanley Cup Playoff berth and a Southeast Division title.

That support is important now more than ever, as the Panthers are in the midst of a critical home stretch that began last night with a 2-0 win over Carolina.

A great amount of credit must go to General Manager Dale Tallon, Assistant GM Mike Santos,  and Head Coach Kevin Dineen for the way they’ve built and led this team to the position we are in now.

With only 14 games left in the regular season, your Cats lead the Southeast Division with 77 points, with Washington one point back with an additional game played, and Winnipeg five points back with an additional game played. And with three more home games this week against Toronto, Boston and Buffalo, we need the passion and support of all of our fans to continue to play well and solidify our playoff position.

As the General Partner of this franchise, please know that I am living each game alongside every one of our great fans. Watching last night’s win from the lower bowl during the first period, I could feel the intensity and excitement in the arena, and the sense that with each passing game, this season continues to swell with anticipation.

When I speak to members of our staff, I often talk about building an organization that everyone can be proud to work for and be associated with. I don’t think there’s any question that - thanks to the work of Dale and Kevin and their staffs, and some of the great leaders we have on the ice like Ed Jovanovski - the Panthers are a franchise that every fan, partner and constituent should be proud to call their own.

Right now, we are playing an exciting brand of hockey, our players are working and sacrificing for each other and our fans, and are conducting themselves with class and dignity off the ice. It’s something for all of us to be proud of as we move through this critical stretch run.

It truly is an exciting time to be a Panthers fan, and because I am a fan above all else, I am relishing this opportunity to play intense meaningful games in March and April, and to do whatever I can to help this team get back to the postseason.

And as we march to the playoffs, I am sincerely urging all of our fans to take the same approach – to attend every home game they possibly can, to watch us on the road, to wear their jerseys and shirts and hats with pride, and to “Believe Red” every single day.

Thank you to all of our fans for their incredible support and go Panthers!
