#5 North American Skater
Moose Jaw, WHL
Position: Defenseman Shoots: Left
Height: 6'0" Weight: 190
Born: 3/9/94 Born In: Vancouver, BC
A defenseman that has an offensive depth to him, Rielly was a point-per-game for the Moose Jaw Warriors this season prior to suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament 18 games into the campaign. That skill allowed him to finish as the fifth ranked player according to Central Scouting.

The Vancouver, BC native has a lot of international experience, helping Canada capture gold at the 2011 Ivan Hlinka Memorial tournament (2-1-3 in 7 games) and winning a bronze in the 2011 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge for Team Pacific (2-3-5 in 6 games).

NHL Central Scouting's Blair MacDonald: "I've seen Rielly do things on the ice that nobody else was doing. I saw him make those little passes to guys who weren't expecting the puck to get there. He's the type of player who can lead the rush and he'll be the first guy back. I think his creativity makes him one of the top players in the league. He's like a chess player; he's thinking one or two moves ahead. He sees stuff coming that a lot of players don't see."

Rielly Ready To Get Back To Work
(04.20.12) Morgan Rielly really didn't need to play another minute this season to confirm what NHL scouts already know -- he's an extraordinary force on defense for the Moose Jaw Warriors of the Western Hockey League.

On Friday, Rielly will play for the first time since Nov. 6 when he skates out for Game 1 of the WHL Eastern Conference Finals against the Edmonton Oil Kings.

"The reason behind my playing again has nothing to do with my draft or anything like that," Rielly told NHL.com. "It's because I want to help my team win. I think we have a team that can have a good playoff run. If there's any way I could help my team achieve that goal, I'd do it, and at this point in time it means me playing again."
