Panthers Launch “RED Rising” Marketing Campaign

Sunrise Sports & Entertainment today announced “RED Rising” – the Florida Panthers’ marketing campaign, which launches today, June 25, and will continue through the 2012-13 NHL Season. The campaign is a continuation of last season’s “We See RED” and playoffs “Believe RED” campaigns, while referencing the Panthers’ Southeast Division Championship and bright future.

“’RED Rising’ is an incredibly fitting campaign for the Panthers after growing such a strong connection to the passion, desire and aggressive attitude associated with ‘red’ last season,” said Panthers president & COO Michael R. Yormark. “Last season’s success produced the Panthers’ first division championship and there’s plenty of reason to believe this is only the beginning of the team’s achievements.”

The Panthers earned the first division title in franchise history after posting 94 points with a 38-26-18 record in 2011-12 – the team’s most points since totaling 98 points in 1999-2000 (43-27-6-6). In their first playoff appearance since 2000, the Panthers fell to the eventual Eastern Conference Champion New Jersey Devils in double overtime of Game 7 of their Eastern Conference quarterfinal series and set records for home playoff game attendance.

In addition to the team’s recent success, the Panthers have a bright future highlighted by numerous top-ranked prospects. Florida is listed No. 1 among all NHL teams for best prospects by Hockey’s Future and has been in the Top 4 organizations for the last four bi-annual rankings.

“RED Rising” is a fully-integrated marketing campaign developed by Zimmerman Advertising and will be activated through radio, television, print and online over the course of the campaign. The campaign was officially launched today through seven digital billboards throughout South Florida as well as on FloridaPanthers.com and the team’s other digital assets, including social media sites.

The Panthers are set to open the 2012-13 season Oct. 13 against the Tampa Bay Lightning and will raise a Southeast Division Championship banner in a pre-game ceremony.
