SSE Hires Director of Event Programming Aaron Zimmerman

SUNRISE, FL. – Sunrise Sports & Entertainment announced today that Aaron Zimmerman has joined the organization as Director of Event Programming for the BankAtlantic Center.
“We are excited to welcome a passionate and experienced professional such as Aaron Zimmerman to the SSE family,” said SSE president & COO Michael Yormark. “I am looking forward to Aaron’s contributions as we maintain and grow the BankAtlantic Center’s reputation as the ‘Center of it All’ for South Florida entertainment, and one of the premier venues of its kind in the world.”
In this role, Zimmerman will be responsible for all of the BankAtlantic Center’s event programming and scheduling including concerts, shows, and special events, while also coordinating with the National Hockey League’s scheduling department.
Zimmerman joins SSE from The David A. Straz, Jr. Center for the Performing Arts in Tampa, Fla. as the Director of Programming. Zimmerman also worked as the Director of Programming for the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts in Miami, and spent time with Jam Theatricals out of Chicago and Ideal Entertainment, Inc. in New York City.
Zimmerman graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park, in 2002 with a B.A. degree in the Business of Music.
The BankAtlantic Center was recently ranked No. 13 in the United States and No. 35 in the world according to the mid-year arena venue rankings by trade publication Pollstar. The “Center of it All” is in the midst of a successful 2012, with upcoming performances including Cirque du Soleil, Rod Stewart & Stevie Nicks, and Carrie Underwood.
