SAN ANTONIO (July 18, 2012) – San Antonio Rampage General Manager Mike Santos announced today that Head Coach Chuck Weber and Assistant Coach Jason Cipolla have agreed to new contracts. Per club policy, terms of each deal were not disclosed.

“Both Chuck and Jason are most deserving of contract extensions after leading the Rampage to the Western Conference semifinals last season,” said Santos. “Despite losing numerous players to the Florida Panthers on recall throughout the season, Chuck and Jason had the team focused and prepared to compete each night. We look forward to their continued hard work as they develop our prospects in a winning and positive environment in San Antonio.”

Weber, 39, guided the Rampage to a 41-30-3-2 regular season record and a berth in the 2012 Calder Cup Playoffs in his first year behind the bench. The Rampage eliminated the Midwest Division Champion Chicago Wolves in five games in the Western Conference Quarterfinals, and advanced to the second round of the post-season for the first time in franchise history (3-2).

The Lockport, N.Y. native served as the Head Coach of the Rochester Americans during the 2010-11 season and led the Cincinnati Cyclones of the ECHL to the Kelly Cup Championship in both 2008 and 2010.

Cipolla, 40, returns to the Rampage for a second season and begins his sixth campaign as an Assistant Coach with the Florida Panthers AHL affiliate. Prior to coming to San Antonio, the Toronto, Ontario native was an assistant with the Rochester Americans from 2007-10. Cipolla is a veteran of 299 career AHL games scoring 62 goals and 164 points with St. John, Manitoba, and Rochester.
